How it all started
From as early as I can remember, I admired my father, a hardworking truck driver, and naturally dreamed of following in his footsteps. I was captivated by the open road and the spirit of adventure that defined his life. However, my father had a different vision for my future. He hoped I would pursue opportunities that offered greater stability and growth than the uncertainties of life on the road.
In the early days, whenever our routes intersected, my attempts to convince him to embrace my vision were met with silence. With decades of experience behind the wheel, my father firmly believed I should pursue a different path-one that promised more stability and a life away from unpredictable roads.
Despite this, my passion for trucking was undeniable. As I relentlessly pursued my dream with unwavering determination, his initial reluctance gradually gave way. My father began to see the fire in my eyes, and the silence melted into cautious support, paving the way for the successful venture I now lead in the trucking industry.
Although there is more to the story than these few recollections can capture, that pivotal journey-marked by initial reluctance followed by eventual encouragement-has been a driving force in shaping my professional life.
Today, as the owner of a successful transportation company, I carry those early lessons with me every day. They remind me of the value of perseverance, the importance of earning trust, and the need to build a legacy that honors both tradition and progress. Meet the President
The story behind K. L. Harring is very significant to our service. Our service stems from years of experience, dedication, and hard work. Keith L. Harring, the president, and owner of K. L. Harring knows this first hand.
In 1978, Keith L. Harring began working full-time as a professional owner-operator. After working seven years on the truck, Keith knew it was time to get off the road and build a company. The transition from an owner-driver to a carrier was a difficult but great learning experience. Eventually everything fell into place for Keith and K. L. Harring.
In 1988, Keith had moved his business out of a rented garage and into a new custom-built facility of his own located on ten acres in Bethel, PA. Today, the office consists of 6,200 square feet, the maintenance area 6,400 square feet, and 60,000 square feet of temperature-controlled warehouse. Over the years, not only has Keith added space to his facility but he has also added more Kenworths to his fleet. Keith currently has a fleet of fifty Kenworths powered by Cummins engines and a strong customer base located throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Keith L. Harring has successfully built K.L Harring to what it is today. He has diligently cross-trained himself in all facets of the transportation & warehousing industry.
